LTN was formed following the successful bid for UK Government support by University College London (UCL) and London Business School (LBS) - an initial £4M 'HEIF' award was announced in October 2001 funded by the Department of Trade and Industry. LTN's partnership in the Enterprise Europe Network is significantly funded by the Capital's economic development body, the London Development Agency (LDA). The LDA promotes economic renewal and development across the London region and invests more than £300 million a year to support the growth of new and existing businesses, the creation of new jobs, and the development of new communities.
LTN also has an agreement with the South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA) to increase the number and quality of interactions between companies and the technology research base in selected HEIs in the South East. SEEDA also funds LTN's partnership in the South-East England consortium of the Enterprise Europe Network.
The agreement further expands LTN's range and scope of operations to include universities and businesses from the South-East.
LTN is delighted to announce that it has just been awarded the contract to support academics and businesses based across the EEDA (East of England Development Agency) region. As part of the contract LTN will help EEDA academics in AUEE universities to engage more effectively with business across the Greater South East to stimulate R&D intensive collaborations. This has been identified as an objective in the EEDA Shared Vision, and complements EEDA investments in Business Link and other government funded regional initiatives such as i10.
